Francisco ALONSO Obituary

ALONSO, Francisco, 90, of Richmond, died October 24, 2009. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sarah Alcover Alonso; two sons, Frank Alonso and his wife, Lourdes, of Orlando, Fla., and Hector Alonso and his wife, Cathy, of Richmond; one brother, Cesar Alonso, of Richmond; four grandchildren, Nicole Miles and her husband, Tyler, of Pensacola, Fla., Lisa Alonso, of Richmond, Sarah Bellezza and her husband, Mike, of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., and Alicia Ryan and her husband, Mike, of Orlando, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, David, Adriana, Sara and Natalie; nephew, Richard Alonso and his wife, Theresa and children, Daniel and Maria, of Richmond; two nieces, Angeles Herran and Susan Salomon; and other nieces and nephews in Havana, Cuba. Mr. Alonso was preceded in death by his grandson, David Vincent Alonso. His remains rest at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday (today), and where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. David's Episcopal Church, 1801 Camborne Road, Richmond. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of Virginia and his caretakers, Luz, Josefina and Narcisa.
