Frank Godbold Jr.

GODBOLD, Dr. Frank Blackwell Jr., 86, of South Boston, Va., died at his home on November 27, 2009. He was the son of the late Frank B. Godbold Sr. and Edna Elks Godbold and was married to Nan Lacy Godbold. He practiced Optometry in South Boston for 39 years, was an active member on First Presbyterian Church, having served as an Elder, Deacon and a longtime Superintendent of Sunday school. He was also an active in many civic endeavors in South Boston and Halifax County. Survivors include his wife, Nan Lacy Godbold of South Boston; two daughters, Marian G. Harris and husband, Jim, of Richmond, and Susan G. Klotz and husband, Joby, of Richmond; one son, Frank B. Godbold III and wife, Maria, of Tampa, Fla.; and seven grandsons. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in South Boston on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Russell Lee officiating.
