Frank STRAUS

STRAUS, Frank, 78, of Ashland, Va., went home to be with the Lord on November 2, 2009. He was predeceased by one son, Charles Straus; and one sister, Florence Johnson. Frank was a long distance truck driver for a number of years and an avid gardener. Frank was known for his humor and often shared a laugh with friends and family. Left to cherish his memory are four children, Gloria Johnson (Percell), Lucille Roseberry, James Braxton and Leon Straus (Shirley); one stepdaughter, Maxine Flemming; two devoted sisters, Janie Jones and Frances Derricot; one sister-in-law, Lucille Walker; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at the F.E. Dabney Funeral Home, 600 B Street, Ashland. Homegoing services will be Saturday, November 7, 2 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 106 South James Street, Ashland. Rev. Michael Shannon Sr., pastor, officiating. Interment church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, November 6 (tonight), at the F.E.
