Furney Green

GREEN, Furney A. "Jit," of Richmond, departed this life December 9, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara H. Green; and one daughter, Darlene Green. He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Green and Ada Brown; two sons Curtis Holloway and Leslie A. Green; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Beatrice Gaines of Atlantic City, New Jersey; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; two daughters-in-law, Veronica Holloway and Eleanor Green; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Laws of Alaska; one brother-in-law, Willie Holloway of Covington, Virginia; and other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at Fifth Baptist Church, 1415 W. Cary Street, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Earl Brown, pastor, officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
