Sue, Jamie & Shawn,
God’s Garden
God looked around His garden
and He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth
and He saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful.
He only takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering.
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
get well on earth again.
He saw that the road was getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered
“Peace Be Thine.”

It broke our hearts to lose you
but you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you
the day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories.
Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you
you are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one
the chain will link again.

We are deeply sadden by Gary's passing.

He will remain with us forever.

My husband and I were at the Va Cancer Ctr on several occasions when Gary was there. Several times we spoke about him. The first time we saw him he was in a wheel chair because he was so weak, but the last time we saw him, he looked good and strong. He had a very friendly, warm smile and we were glad to see he was feeling better. We don't have answers for what happens here on earth, but we know our God has us in the palm of his hand.

Just wanted you to know that Gary's smile touched our lives.

Praying comfort for you and your family during this very difficult time.

To my auntie Sue, and cousins Shawn & Jamie....
It saddens my heart that such a wonderful person was taken from us so soon. As we grow older we don't spend as much time with our families until something like this happens. Cherish every minute we have here on this earth, and know that Gary will be waiting for all of us to join him on the beaches in the heavens. My prayer is for a peace to overcome you in this time of loss. Luv u all!!!

Dear Sue and Sons,
Here is a little poem to bless your hearts:
Birth is a beginning And death a destination But life is a journey A going -- a growing From stage to stage From childhood to maturity And youth to age. From innocence to awareness And ignorance to knowing; From foolishness to discretion And then perhaps, to wisdom. From Weakness to strength Or strength to weakness And, often, back again. From health to sickness And back we pray, to health again. From offense to forgiveness, From loneliness to love, From joy to gratitude, From pain to compassion, And grief to understanding -- From fear to faith. From defeat to defeat to defeat -- Until, looking backward or ahead, We see that victory lies Not as some high place along the way, But in having made the journey, stage by stage. A sacred pilgrimage. Birth is a beginning And death a destination. But life is a journey, A sacred pilgrimage -- Made stage by stage -- To life everlasting. Unknown Author----

Even in our pains I believe God gave Gary a special gift these few months the gift of "Time" time to conclude his journey here and to make peace with God. Many are taken from us suddenly not having a chance to make that spiritual connection. So we will weep and miss our love ones dearly, BUT there is hope as we prepare our life here for when we have to make our eternal Journey, that you will be together again in a glorious heavenly city!!! We are here for you all.

Love and peace,
Pastor Sonia Pena
