AVENT, Mrs. Genieve, of 2411 Langston Ave., departed this life December 5, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Avent; two sisters and one brother. She is survived by one sister, Ora Lomax (William); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; one devoted friend, Dorothy Johnson. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m. Rev. Walter Yarbrough officiating. Burial Oakwood Cemetery.
