Grace Turnage Obituary

TURNAGE, Grace Stancil, 84, of Richmond, went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family, on November 19, 2009. She was predeceased by her husbands, Jack W. Stancil and Wallace B. House. She is survived by her daughters, Diane and her husband, Harvey "Butch" Johnson, and Debbie and her husband, Harry Slayden; four granddaughters, Lisa Johnson Kirby, Jennifer Johnson Adams, Amy Slayden, and Kelly Slayden; sisters, Jean Bartinikas of Richmond, Va. and Betty Morano of Phoenix, Ariz.; brother, Fred Carner of Richlands, Va.; six great-grandsons, Chase, Christopher, Logan, Ethan, Jack, and Eli; and one great-granddaughter, Emily. Mrs. Turnage retired after 30 years of service with American Tobacco Company. She was a member of Tomahawk Baptist Church and a former member of Ridge Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 22, from 12:30 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad Street, also where a funeral service will be conducted Monday, November 23, at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Westhampton Memorial Park.
