Harvey Crowder

CROWDER, Mr. Harvey Drew, age 71, of South Hill, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. Crowder; and is survived by a daughter, Betty Drew Crowder Boham (Ken) of Lenoir, N.C.; and a son, David Lee Crowder (Mary Jane) of Graham, N.C. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Stephen Boham, Chelsea Boham and James Crowder; and three brothers, Charles Crowder of Henderson, N.C., Samuel Crowder of Whaleyville, Va. and William H. "T-Bo" Crowder of South Hill. Mr. Crowder was a retired manager with Burlington Industries & VQC in South Hill, a former officer with the South Hill Police Department, a member of Ephesus Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion Post 79 of South Hill, the South Hill Moose Lodge, and a charter member of Southside Rescue Squad. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 21, at Farrar Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park.
