Ila Glasscock

GLASSCOCK, Mrs. Ila Harter, 93, widow of Rommie Vest Glasscock, died Friday October 29, 2010 at MeadowView Terrace in Clarksville. Born March 4, 1917, she was one of 13 children born to Adam and Rosetta Slaughter Harter. A charter member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Ila was a homemaker. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Rev. Rodney Barwick and the Rev. Jeaux Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Gravel Hill Baptist Church cemetery. Ila is survived by her daughters, Paige Hayes of Rockville and Sybil Cole of Buffalo Junction, and sons, Lewis Glascock and David Glasscock, both of Buffalo Junction. Her grandson, Jeffrey Hayes of Glen Allen, also survives. She was preceded in death by a son, Rommie Lee Glasscock. A special thanks goes out to Meadowview Terrace Nursing Home, Halifax Regional Hospice, and caregivers, Teresa and Tracy.
