VAUGHAN, Mrs. Jacqueline Marie Holland, 68, beloved wife of Charles Leigh Vaughan, entered into peaceful rest Monday, November 16, 2009 at her home in St. Augustine, Fla. A native of Portsmouth, Va. and a daughter of the late Floyd Bernard and Filomena Mary Holland, she retired from Fair Havens Methodist Church in Richmond, Va. She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister and friend. To her children and grandchildren, she was a loving mother and grandmother, an avid supporter, a superb cook, a never-ending inspiration and a source of faith. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ronald Coleman Wood II; and her in-laws, Gordon Leigh Vaughan and wife, Elizabeth. She is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Deborah Vaughan Wood and her husband, Ronald, of St. Augustine, Fla.; son, Kevin L. Vaughan and wife, Merrie Anne, of St. Augustine, Fla.; and daughter, Kristen Vaughan Braxton and husband, Dallas, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; and 10 grandchildren, Maribeth, Jackie-Leigh and Charles Wood, Ashleigh and Ansley Vaughan, and Kristopher, Nicholas, Zachary, Julia and Grace Braxton. She is also survived by her sisters, Joanne Holland Goldberg and her husband, Aubrey, Sherry Holland Braithwaite and her husband, Bill; and her aunt, Rosemary ReDavid Cooke. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, at Snellings Funeral Home Churchland Chapel. Funeral services will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Portsmouth, Va. at 11 a.m. Friday, November 20, with Pastor Tom Infantino officiating. Pallbearers will be members of her surviving family, and her godson, Keith A. Vaughan. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. A reception honoring her life will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church following the services. The family expresses appreciation for the loving care and assistance provided by the staff at Haven Hospice of St. Augustine and Palatka, Fla. for the past two years. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, Fla. 32606, or to the Southeastern Alzheimer's Association.
