Jean McGuire

McGUIRE, Jean Ellen, 67, of Chesterfield, Va., passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Thomas Johns Cancer Hospital in Richmond, Va. She was born on September 17, 1942 in Wytheville, Va. She lived in Cloverdale, Va. before moving to Chesterfield 48 years ago. She loved crafts and making things with her hands, like quilts, jewelry and crocheted items. Mrs. McGuire is survived by her husband of 49 years, Roy William McGuire of Chesterfield; two sons, James William McGuire and wife, Kimberly, of Richmond, Roy Timothy McGuire and wife, Cheryl, of Sandston, Va.; and one daughter, Pamela Lynn McGuire of Chesterfield; three sisters; Judy Mitchell of Pulaski, Va., her twin sister, Jane Thomas and husband, Alvin, of Botetourt County, Va. and Lucy Parker and husband, David, of Botetourt County, Va.; and one brother; Huey Wheeler and wife, Evelyn, of Amelia County, Va. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Obie and Amanda Wheeler; two sisters, Euva "Pat" Keister and Dot Whitt; and three brothers, Buddy Wheeler, Pete Wheeler and Obie Wheeler Jr. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Rader Funeral Home, with her grandson, Pastor Charles Richard Schenck, officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Rader Funeral Home, Daleville, Va.
