John Boyd White

WHITE, John Boyd, 85, died Wednesday at Halifax Regional Medical Center. Mr. White was a Warren County, N.C. native born to the late William Boyd White and Alma Paschall White. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Rosa W. Sabrowski and Esther W. Springer. Mr. White was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation, he was a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran having served in WWII, and was charter member of the South Hill Country Club. Rev. Bob Rose will conduct graveside services 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Surviving are his daughter, Martha White Sweitzer of Victoria, Va.; one brother, L.H. White of Halifax, N.C.; two grandchildren, Bridgette Shaw and J.P. Sweitzer; and several nieces and nephews that he was very fond of. Any memorials should be made to South Hill Country Club or to Zion United Methodist Church, 462 Oine Road, Norlina, N.C. 27563. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Blaylock Funeral Home in Warrenton.
