JOSEPHINE PERKINS Obituary

PERKINS, Josephine Lucille Presley, 95, of Jarratt, Va., beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, left us to be with her Lord and reunite with her loving husband of 66 years, Benjamin, on Monday, January 11, 2010. A lifelong resident of Greensville County, she was born on December 9, 1914, the youngest child of Josie Adeline Gregory Presley and James Henry Presley. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by five sisters, two brothers, four stepsisters and a stepbrother. Leaving to cherish her memory is her daughter, Patricia Perkins of Jarratt; son, George B. "G. B." Perkins Jr. (Georgette) of Gasburg, Va.; daughter, Estelle P. Kidd (Buddie) of Brodnax, Va.; grandchildren, Kim Edwards (Doug), Sandra Inge (Steve), Ben Perkins (Karen), Kay Elliott (Mike); great-grandchildren, Cyndal Perkins, Kayla and Libbie Watts, Tori and Hailey Inge, Zoe and Wyatt Edwards, Hunter and Colby Elliott; brother-in-law, Hugh Perkins (Ruby); also, many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends who knew "Aunt Cille." Services celebrating her life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Grace Anglican Church, Purdy, Va., with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (tonight) at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Road in Jarratt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Anglican Church, c/o Melissa Forsythe, 1141 Smoky Ordinary Rd., Emporia, Va. 23847.

The Purdy Bible Study group will certainly miss Aunt Lucille. We celebrate with the family that she is now reunited with all those loved ones who have gone before her. Our love to all of you who remain.
