To my friend Joyce whose resting in Heaven. She had such a warm loving and kind spirit. Loved her family and all the great trips and family events they shared together. As her friend I enjoyed her beautiful smile, so every time I see a butterfly land on my deck I always say hello Joyce because she loved butterflies. It's a great reminder that she's still watching over us. I MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU MY FRIEND AND I WILL SEE YOU AGAIN.

Jahbari, Jenika and the Mann family we were sorry to hear about Joyce's homegoing. We knew Joyce for many years, she worked with Paul at DOC a few years ago and we became friends. I remember the trips to Baltimore to see our mothers and the laughter we shared. We would call each other from time to time to talk about our daughters growing up. I would see Joyce almost every two weeks at Kanita's Nail Shop and we would talk for hours acting crazy like we would kids again. I will "truly" miss my friend and I hope to one day see her pretty smile and hear her say, "hello Carter".

Janika: My heart hurts of hearing about the loss of your mother. I met her thru Kelly Gatling and she had such a beautiful smile, one that stayed with you. I'm glad I got to meet her. Deepest Sympathy to your beautiful family. I loved Joyce (Madam Butterfly), and will miss working and chatting with her every day. We had such fun together at the office as well as going to the movies, dinner and many lunches.

Jenika and Jabari - Your mother was one of the first people to befriend me in junior high school. We were also in dance school together. She took me by the hand and showed me kindness and courage. May it be comforting to you to know that your Mother stopped by Friday night in her own way to let me know that she was okay and at peace now. Your Mother loved you two and her grandchildren very much. As you know, Mom and I go way back and called each other Big and Little Sis. We often talked about how our lives mirrored one another. She was always my support in the time of need and an vice versa. We were in each other's weddings and just had an exceptional bond. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Joyce, my cousin, reached out to reconnect with me through Facebook a few weeks ago. I was so glad to hear from her. I hadn't spoken with her since we were in school and she lived with Cousin Lil (Randolph). Seeing her FB photo reminded me of her beauty and grace. Her message was so happy and full of hope. It is hard to believe that this has happened. Time does not erase the person that she was or the woman she became. Deeply missed but fondly remembered.

I am truly saddended by the passing of Joyce, we first met in 1976 when we worked at the Penitentiary together, and then in 1995 we belonged to FBC as sisters in Crist. We would occasionally talk about famiy and friends the children and grandchildren..She was a sweet person and always wore a pretty smile...God will wipe away all your tears and replace them with the memory of such a beautiful person.
