Julia Armstead

ARMSTEAD, Julia M., 80, daughter of Sebastian Alexander and Marie Alexander, entered eternal rest on May 31, 2010. She was born in Florence, S.C. on April 24, 1930. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Alberta Cooper of Florence, S.C. and Amanda Murray of Richmond, Va.; and two brothers, Melvin Black of Richmond, Va. and Sylvester Alexander of Florence, S.C.; and by both parents. She is survived by her daughter, Lolita Armstead of Highland Springs, Va.; and son, LeRoy Armstead III of Washington, D.C.; and grandson, Vincent Woods-Armstead of Memphis, Tenn. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. Remains rest at W.S. Watkins Funeral Home, 2700 North Avenue, Richmond, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at Hood Temple A.M.E. Zion Church on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends from noon until 12:45 p.m., at the church. Rev. Kevin McGill officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hood Temple A.M.E. Zion Church; c/o Deaconess Board.
