McDANIEL, Leslie Wayne Sr., 59, of Hopewell, Virginia, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Chesterfield County and had been a lifetime resident of the Tri-city area. Mr. McDaniel was a traffic control specialist with Bruce Howard Contracting, Inc. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph D. McDaniel Sr.; and a stepdaughter, Donna Harry Bryant. Mr. McDaniel is survived by his wife, Nancy Harry McDaniel of Hopewell, Va.; a son, Leslie Wayne McDaniel Jr.; three daughters, Angela Quillena, Lisa Wedsger, Melissa Jones and her husband, Gregory; a stepdaughter, Betty Howard and her husband, Bruce; two stepsons, Henry Harry and his wife, Tina, and David Harry; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his mother, Nancy McDaniel Phelps and her husband, Joe; four brothers, Joseph D. McDaniel Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, Thomas R. McDaniel and his wife, Samantha, Michael McDaniel, Farron W. McDaniel and his wife, Kay; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 7, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service, with visitation to follow. Interment will be private.
