Mrs Sheryl Diane Wilson McDaniel, age 71, passed away early Monday morning, December 15, 2025, at her home in Shinbone Valley,
Menlo, Ga. She was born to Warner Edwin and Edith Nancy Wales Wilson on October 7, 1954 at Trion Hospital in
Trion, Georgia. Her Daddy called her Estrella, his little star.
She was a very talented musician. She started to play the piano by ear before she was 5 years old so her parents arranged for her to take lessons. After that there was no stopping her. While still a child, she played the piano for the services at Chelsea Baptist Church. She was the piano player for many churches over the years including: Trion Heights Baptist Church, Highland Avenue Baptist Church, Menlo Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church of Summerville, Cloudland Presbyterian, Beersheba Presbyterian Church, Summerville First Methodist Church, Trion Church of God, Menlo Baptist Church and more. In addition to being the piano player for many different churches, she also played for community events and various school functions.
When she was 4 years old, she met the young brother, also 4 of her older sister Nancy's friend Earlene. His name was Bobby Wayne McDaniel. When they started school at Chattooga High School, they clicked and started dating. They were married on October 13, 1974, and had almost 35 wonderful years together before he unexpectedly passed away.
She was a loving Mother and Grandmother. She was also an amazing aunt. Growing up, she was always the "fun" aunt, the one who was always happy and sweet and who would play games with the kids.
She always played the piano or the organ for our family events. Holidays won't be the same without her playing music for us.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Amber Sheryl McDaniel, husband Bobby Wayne McDaniel, sister Nancy Wilson Smith, brother Nelson Lee Wilson, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Winnie Lee Crouch McDaniel.
She is survived by daughter Shanna Bobbie Ammons, grandsons Chandler James Ammons, Zander Wayne Ammons, Declan Wilson Ammons, and Killian Turner Ammons; brother Edwin Wilson and wife Martha, brother-in-law Lawrence Smith, sister-in-law Brenda Wilson, in-laws Sue and Philip Murphy, Earlene Elliot, Tim and Karen McDaniel, and Tony McDaniel. Several Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins also survive her.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 21, 2025, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matthew Willingham and Rev. Phillip Minter officiating. Interment will follow in the Pennville Community Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers are Chandler, Zander, Declan, and Killian Ammons, Dylan Adams, Scottie Satterfield, Brian Farrer, Jeffrey Wilson, Robert and Charles Murphy.
