Mr. Edward Lee Harris, age 79, of Menlo, GA, died Saturday, January 24, 2026, at his residence.

Mr. Harris was born September 23, 1946, in Summerville, GA, son of the late Jess Frank Harris and Inez LeRoy Harris. He was Baptist by faith, and prior to his retirement, was employed with Beaulieu Carpets. Mr. Harris was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam Era as a parachute rigger. He was a lifetime member of both the V.F.W. Summerville Post 6688 and The American Legion. After his active duty service, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves as well as the Air Force Reserves. His hobbies included landscaping, gardening, camping, and fishing, and making everyone around him happy.

Mr. Harris enjoyed reading his Bible and believed in sharing the material things that God had provided him. His message to his family and friends is to "live everyday like it is your last. Tell everyone you love them. Forgive everyone for their transgressions. Look to God with prayer. Believe he will hear you and will answer you."

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frankie Harris; and sister, Clara Mae Miller.

Survivors include his sons, Charles (Caroline) Harris, Jason Harris; daughters, Sally Harris, Samantha Harris; sisters, Brenda (Jackie) Marshall, Zona Sinns; grandchildren, Jayce Harris, Kamdyn Harris, and Brittani Ingram; special caregivers, Ricky and Amy Boyd, Kaitlyn Boyd, and Kaydis Wade; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Greenhills Memory Gardens with Rev. Matthew Willingham officiating. Active pallbearers will be Ricky Boyd, Kevin Boyd, Chad Green, Jackie Marshall, and Mark Ballard. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the V.F.W. Post 6688 and the American Legion.

Mr. Harris will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the V.F.W. Post 6688.
