Mr. Gregory Millard Smith

Gregory Millard Smith, age 62, of Menlo, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2026.

Greg was born on September 30, 1963, in Lafayette, Georgia, to George and Mary Sue Smith. From the beginning of his life to his final days, Greg was known for his kind heart, selfless spirit, and deep love for children and family.

A devoted man of faith, Greg faithfully served as a Deacon at Chelsea Baptist Church, where he lived out his love for Christ through service, compassion, and a genuine concern for others. His faith was not only spoken but seen, especially in the way he nurtured children, offered encouragement, and quietly met the needs of those around him.

Greg found joy in fishing, time with family, and investing in the lives of children. He had a gentle presence and a loving spirit that made people feel safe, valued, and cared for. To know Greg was to experience kindness without condition.

He is survived by his parents, George and Mary Sue Smith; his children, Joseph Culbert (Angie), Jennifer Collins (Chris), Jamie Culbert (Kesha), and Jordan Smith (Ollie); and his beloved grandchildren, Matthew Collins (Macy), Renee Birge (Benton), Caitlyn Collins, Rachel Collins, Chayse Culbert, Chris Collins, Waylon Collins, Margie Beasley (Noah), Brandon Collins, Sandy Collins, Carley Collins, Simon Collins, Abigail Culbert, Cotton Smith, Creek Smith, Elijah Collins, Clover Smith, Jaser Culbert, Caraway Smith, and Sissy Collins.

He is also survived by his siblings, Angie Wade (Tony), Missy Hunnicutt, Kevin Smith, Chris Smith, and Keith Smith (Katie); as well as beloved nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren, friends, and many loved ones whose lives were touched by his kindness and faith.

A memorial service celebrating Greg's life will be held at Chelsea Baptist Church on Friday, January 23. The family will receive guests at 5:00 PM, and the service begins at 6:00 PM.

Greg's life was a testimony of quiet faithfulness, love for family, and service to God. While he will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the promise that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.
