Libby MEYERS Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on Nov. 9, 2009.
MEYERS, Libby Romm, age 97, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 7, 2009 in Boca Raton, Fla. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 73 years, Irving Joseph Meyers. Libby was the daughter of the late Morris Romm and Eva Chipiwalt Romm, and sister of Edythe Blanche Romm and Shirley Mae Lefkowitz. Libby is survived by three children, Dorothy Meyers Wizer of Boca Raton, Fla., Stephen Allan Meyers (Susan), of Richmond, Va., and Donald Gedalia Meyers of Israel; 13 loving grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A 1929 graduate of John Marshall High School, Libby was a "women for all seasons,"... a world-class knitter and crocheter, a brilliant bridge player, golfer (even a hole-in-one in Lakeside Country Club), and a member of the Richmond, Va., and Pembroke Pines Florida Golf Association. She was a lifelong member and supporter of Temple Beth-El, the Beth-El Sisterhood, Hadassah, the Jewish Women's Club, the Richmond Jewish Community Center and the Jewish Federation. Libby loved art, music, travel, but most of all, Irving and the family. Always a smile, time to listen, and the wisdom to share, we celebrate her life. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, at Richmond Beth-El Cemetery, at Forest Lawn. Arrangements by BIiley's - Central. Donations may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
