Bertram "Craig" Meyers, 78, of Wexford, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025. He was born on December 5, 1947, in Baltimore MD.
Craig was the devoted husband of late Donna and cherished brother of Linda. He is survived by his four sons Zac (Susan), Andy (Jamie), Ben (Rachel) and Tim (Megan). Proud grandfather of Luna, Forest, Nathan, William, Opal, Owen, Joseph, and Elizabeth. He is also survived by many brothers & sisters in-laws and their beloved families.
A graduate of Baltimore Poly, Craig went on to earn a bachelor's in Physics from Towson, a master's in Physics from Western Kentucky, a master's in astronomy and PHD in Physics from Penn State. He had a passion for the pursuit of knowledge which he later shared in publishing a book titled "Managing Software Acquisition" with colleague Patricia Oberndorf.
Craig spent the bulk of his professional career at Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute (SEI). He was well respected and well liked among his colleagues who he also considered his friends. One of Craig's notable projects included "Red Team" project management for the USS Zumwalt, the Navy's most advanced destroyer-class warship. Craig's work with the Department of Defense for the Army and Navy has contributed in ways most never would've known.
His mark was also left on the local community, having served as President of North Allegheny Soccer Club during a formative growth period of the game he loved. He coached all four of his sons and in most seasons, concurrently. He instilled enthusiasm with the players he coached for over 30 years- long after his own boys finished playing for the local club.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, December 21 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.at Schellhaas & Sons Funeral Home, 1600 Stone Mansion Drive,
Sewickley, PA 15143 (Franklin Park/Wexford) A service will follow on Monday, December 22 at 10:00 at the same venue, followed by burial at Queen of Heaven cemetery.
