Lorien
I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mom and I were golf partners. I sent her emails, and did not get a response. Then I saw she passed away. Your Mom was a very special person and I will forever remember her.

A dear friend of mine went to heaven today, our loss is her gain
Because I know she's in heaven she’s finally free from all pain.

She lived much of her time in PA in a borough called Camp Hill.
Lorien’s “kids” loved to visit N 25th, watching bunnies from the window sill.

She enjoyed her time down here with us, she was such a gardening queen.
She spent many hours working on her plants, the front yard was a lovely scene.

My friend loved to gather with her friends and a game of bridge they would play.
And boy, watching baseball, especially the Phillies, was a treat for her on any day.

She looked forward to a tee time on the links, for her it was such a passion.
As winter turned to spring she would make sure her golf outfit was in fashion.

The light of her life is her Lor, whom from birth she adored without end.
We can all see there’s an eternal bond between those two, I must contend.

A dear friend of mine went to heaven today, she’s smiling down on us from on high.
A dear friend of mine went to heaven today, please join me as I say goodbye.

Lorien
Am deeply sorry to learn of your mother's passing. She was a great friend - always smiling & cheerful. We were on the same bowling team for a while & continued our friendship through lunch-time walks along the river & later, after she moved to be with you, through emails. Despite her diagnosis her last email in August spoke of pushing forward with plans for her house & a possible trip with you. Linda never gave up. She always spoke of you with so much pride & love. You were a wonderful daughter for her & she appreciated everything you did for her. May your memories sustain you. You are in my thoughts & prayers as she has been in mine for quite some time.

You were there for your mom, Lorien - every step of the way! You not only helped her move to Richmond so you could share this past year together, you also helped her find the best medical care available. YOU are the reason we all benefited from your mom beating the odds and living as long as she did!

I am in awe of the way you were at her bedside before dawn EVERY DAY and stayed as long as the staff would allow while she was hospitalized.I know your mom was aware of your dedication and love. You could not have been a better advocate.

Take comfort in knowing that you did everything possible for your mom. I am personally grateful because I valued her friendship as though she was my sister; in fact, we thought of ourselves as "sisters-by-heart".

I wish so much that I could be at the service this afternoon, but the miles make it impossible. Know that I will be there in spirit.

Lorien, I am the Inspector General of Pennsylvania and a dear friend of your mother. I learned of her passing yesterday and was deeply saddened. Linda was a good person - a loyal employee, a friend whose counsel was frequently sought and appreciated. She was also an excellent golfer who helped us win many tournaments because of her skill and advantage of playing from the ladies' tees. She loved you very much and often spoke of how much she enjoyed visiting you in Virginia. I wish I could be there to express my feelings and condolences in person. However, please know that you will be in my prayers and Linda in my memory for a long time to come. Sorrowfully submitted. Lorien, your mother and I worked together in the 70s as caseworkers for DPW. I remember spending many a lunch hour playing cards with her. Sharp, intelligent, quick-witted, dedicated,...a great woman indeed. Though our DPW careers separated, i would see her at times. i will always appreciate what she gave to her career and to those fortunate enough to work with her.

Lorien, I played some golf on and off with your mom a few years ago. What a great swing she had - as graceful as she was! She was such a sweet woman and spoke so proudly and adoringly of you. No doubt your fond memories of her will comfort you at this sad time.
