Richard A. Gable, 82, of Waverly, NY, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Elderwood at Waverly.
He was born on December 11, 1942, in Sayre, PA, the son of George Gable and Myrtle (Allen) Woroblewski.
Richard was employed with the Ingersoll-Rand for 20 years as the Maintenance Supervisor, prior to retiring. He then went to work for the Village of Waverly at the Wastewater Treatment Facility. Toshiba in Horseheads then offered him a job in their Wastewater Treatment Facility, where he retired from his years of faithful service.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Richard also enjoyed working in his garage on many different projects.
He is predeceased by his father; George Gable, mother and step-father; Myrtle and Anthony Woroblewski, wife; Martha Gable, and son; Richard Gable.
Richard is survived by his son; Daniel Gable and fiancée; Anne Teeter, daughter and son-in-law; Donna and Dennis Turgeon, grandchildren; Jacob, Katelyn, Kara, Chad, David, and Tyler, great-grandchildren; Jase, Gunner, Liam, Adelynn, and Irie. He is also survived by his brother; Gary Gable, sister and brother-in-law; Cathy and Jerry Lattimer, sister; Jill Lane, sisters and brothers-in-law; Helen and Lorne Hodge and Lisa and Dale Perry, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later time. The family is being cared for by Lowery-Urban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Athens, PA.
