Louis WHITTAKER Obituary

WHITTAKER, Louis Thurman Jr., 60, of Reedville, departed this life October 22, 2009 at his home. A graduate of Virginia Tech, he was a commercial waterman, owner of Sea Products, Inc., a former teacher and coach at Brookland Middle School and Henrico High School in Henrico County. He served on the Northumberland County Board of Supervisors, the Crab Advisory Committee of the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, and was president of the Virginia Softcrab Producers. He was an avid hunter and sportsman. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Deborah Corsa Whittaker; son, Louis T. Whittaker III; sister, Charlotte W. Swaffin and husband, Fred, of Kilmarnock; mother-in-law, Anne L. Edwards of Fleets Point; brother-in-law, Greg Corsa and wife, Kathryn, of Fleeton. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 25, at Morattico Baptist Church Cemetery, Kilmarnock. Memorials may be made to Northumberland County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1, Reedville, Va. 22539, or United Network of Organ Sharing, 700 N. 4th St., Richmond, Va. 23219.
