Marie Layne Carwile, 69, of Sneads, Florida died Saturday, December 13, 2025, at her residence.
She was born July 10, 1956, to the late Charles Henry and Doris Layne Carwile. Born and raised in Virginia, she obtained her bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech. After graduation, she moved to North Florida for an internship. On March 21, 1986, she married Wiley Steve Ansley and they lived in Tallahassee for ten years before moving to Sneads, Florida. She worked for Florida State Hospital for 30 years as a Horticultural Therapy Supervisor. She loved her job and loved sharing her passion of plants.
Marie loved nature and when she wasn’t working, she could most likely be found in her garden. She enjoyed traveling, especially to make trips back to Virginia, but always enjoyed returning home. She cherished time with her family and was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved sister, and aunt.
She is survived by her husband, Wiley Steve Ansley; daughter, Lauren Renee Wyrobeck and husband, Samuel; grandchildren, Lilith and Wesley Wyrobeck; sister, Brenda Hallmark and husband, Alan; numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
Memorial service will be 2 PM, Saturday, December 27, 2025, at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel. The family will receive friends at 1 PM until the time of service.
