Funeral Services for Mrs. Sheila K. Carwile, age 66 of Lineville, will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025 at 11:00 A.M at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Pastor Kevin Acre officiating. Burial will follow at the Clay County Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Carwile passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the Clay County Hospital. She was born in Ashland and was a lifelong resident of Clay County. A Graduate of Lineville High School in 1976, she began working out of high school at Higgins Slacks for 17 years in the Payroll department. Mrs. Carwile then began working at Russell Manufacturing for 16 years in the Human resources and safety and health departments. Eventually, Charles Higgins asked her to move back to Higgins until she retired in 2021. In her younger years, Mrs. Carwile and her husband loved traveling and spending time outdoors. They often would go white water rafting down the Ocoee River, and enjoyed camping. In her later years, she enjoyed oil painting and crocheting. Mrs. Shelia was also gifted musically, playing the bass guitar and keyboards. Along with her husband, they would often gather with friends and play music together, playing whatever came to their soul. Mrs. Carwile never met a stranger, was always outgoing and supportive. She took care of her coworkers and employees at Higgins, and was loving and faithful wife to her husband Mike. She will be dearly missed.

Mrs. Carwile is survived by her husband of 50 years, Mike Carwile; one brother, Richard Scott Kennedy, both of Lineville; two nieces: Regina Gramling (Shane) of Auburn and Sheila Carwile of Atlanta, GA; three nephews: Danny Carwile (Brandi) of Colorado, Kevin Carwile (Jen) of Atlanta, GA and Kenny Carwile of Troy; her first cousins: Sue Morrison of Lineville and Janis Powell of Goldville; three brothers in law: Aubrey Carwile (Sandra) of Atlanta, GA, Sherman Carwile (Hilda) of Lineville, and Bill Carwile of Tallassee.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Richard R. Kennedy and Carolyn Jane Hunt Kennedy; and one brother in law, Rick Carwile.

Active pallbearers will be Charles Kinder, Tim Saxon, Dylan Chadrick, Tony Denney, Timmy McKinney, and Keith Wortham.

Her visitation will take place on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville beginning at 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and until service time on Monday.
