Madeline M. L'Homme

L'HOMME, Madeleine M., 92, of Richmond, died tragically in a house fire in the company of her beloved pets at her home on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. She moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., in 1963 after her husband retired. Soon after she returned to school to earn her Master's Degree in Linguistics. She became a very loved teacher and private tutor for the years following. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Col. Jacques L'Homme. She is survived by her daughter, Mimi Baker and her husband, Latane; two grandsons, Bryan Baker and Kevin Baker and his wife, Ashley; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Baker; and two brothers, Andre' Mayot and Roger Mayot, both of France. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bliley's - Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. Interment to take place Monday, May 24, 2 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad.
