BUCHANAN, Marie Logan, 88, of Richmond, departed this life to be with her Lord in heaven, Thursday, July 8, 2010. She died peacefully in the presence of her husband and two of her sisters. Marie was a loving wife to her husband Robert for 48 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl L. and Carrie G. Logan; brothers, Clarence P. Logan and Oswald G. Logan; and sister, Bonnie L. Patterson. She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Buchanan Jr., and her siblings, Earl M. Logan of Staunton, Va., Wreatha Ferraba Whitesell of Waynesboro, Va., Juanita Hill and her husband, Rayborn, of Roanoke, Va., John W. Logan and his wife, Mildred, of Staunton, Va., Peggy L. and husband, Floyd Arehart, of Sandston, Va., Ruth L. Spitzer and husband, Cary, of Williamsburg, Va., Betty Sue and husband, James Layton, of Martinsville, Va., Alice L. and husband, Larry Cooper, of Landenberg, Pa., and Dorothy L. and husband, Don Richie, of Raphine, Va. Marie will be remembered for her always cheerful, positive outlook, her smile, and her strong faith in her Lord. She loved her family so much, including her many nieces and nephews. She loved her church where she served as church receptionist for a number of years and subsequently with Needle's Eye ministries which she also loved dearly. She worked in various positions at C&P Telephone Company in the benefits department where she traveled to various states to confer with retirees in regard to benefits. She also managed the personnel department for a number of years and retired as supervisor of administrative services. She took great pride in her work, the company, and the people with whom she worked. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at First Baptist Church Chapel, 2709 Monument Ave., Richmond, Va. 23220. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or Needle's Eye Ministries, 104 Berrington Ct., Richmond, Va. 23221.

Dearest Family, we are deeply sorry to learn of your
untimely loss. Please know that Jesus ransom made
a way for us to see our loved one's again as promised.
The hour is coming and it is now, when the dead will
hear the voice of the Son of God and those who have
given heed will live. Please accept my condolences.
