Dear Lauzonis Family and Friends,

I was saddened to hear of Mark's death, and am very sorry for your loss... Last summer I was reminiscing with a high school friend about Mark. I remember him as an intelligent, fun loving and likable guy. Mark and I knew each other from St. Edwards and were in several classes together throughout our high school years. He used to tease me like a brother would. We went our separate ways after high school. I wish I could have known Mark as an adult and seen him with his family; he seems to have delighted in them... Psalm 34:18 says, "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." I pray for God's presence, peace and comfort in your hearts and lives. And, that family and friends will envelope you with their love and support...

In Christ's Love,

Michael Toler

What is there to say except that I am deeply saddened by this news and I wish you all strength and solace. I thought a lot of Mark, as did my whole family. I know that he is resting in peace.

Dearest Lauzonis Family, I am so sorry to hear of the death of Mark. I went to St Edward's with him and remember him just like he looks in his picture always with a sweet smile (except he had braces then). He was always so nice and so smart. When I looked back in our st eds yearbook he always wrote the sweetest things. He left us too early but left some wonderful children as his legacy. My prayers are with you and your family. Fondly, Hazel Jefferson Snead

I knew Mark back in high school and although I hadn't seen or heard from him since then, the mere mention of his name brought back many memories of science class. He was such a smart, thoughtful and kind person. I'm sure he was a remarkable adult, as well.
My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends. You are lucky people to have had him in your lives.

I was shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of Mark. We were good friends back in high school and spent many days just laughing about things or cooking up some kind of scheme that would lead to more laughing. As I moved on to college, we grew out of touch but ran into each other from time to time. I have spent the past few days looking at yearbooks, thinking about the fun that we had, and wishing that I had known him as a man the way that I knew him as a teenager. It is obvious from all that I have read that I am the one who missed out. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and children.

I have known Mark for about 17 years. We worked together at Hoover and Strong for a few years. After many years of not seeing him, I had the pleasure to coach hockey with him at Shooters. I will always remember the way he would get excited about a play and jump up and down like a little kid at a birthday party. He loved coaching and being on the bench with the kids.I am so glad that as coaches and a team we could win Mark his last Championship. It makes it so much more special for me.I will miss his wide smile and his funny laugh. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. To the family and friends, you are in our prayers.God bless you.

I worked with Mark at Hoover and Strong. I'm very saddened to hear of his passing. Although I didn't know him as well as others who worked closely with him, he was always really nice to me and always had a smile on his face and could make you laugh. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I only found out about the passing of Mark a few minutes ago. My deepest condolences and prayers go out to his entire family. As a hockey coach @ Shooters, I had the pleasure of knowing Mark and Cullen for several years. He never passed me by without extending his hand and smile. He was so kind to the kids and parents and I don't ever recall him in a bad mood. One of his trademarks was his rolled up sweat pants regardless of the weather...the other was the way he jumped up and down from behind the bench whenever a goal was scored. He was one of the good guys that left us much too early.

Rest peacefully coach!!

I too worked with Mark and his wife Delores at Hoover & Strong. He was a fine person to work with and everyone should be proud of him. One of the things I will always remember is Mark wearing a jacket, but having his sweat pants leg pulled up to his knees, that was so funny. He was a character that's for sure.
I don't think i hardly ever saw Mark in a bad mood.
I also had the pleasure of working with his dad at Hoover & Strong. Dr. Kennett (our dentist) always asked how Mark was doing whenever i went to him.
God Bless and know you are in my thoughts.

Delores, Kayla & Cullen,
The passing of such a wonderful husband and dad was quite saddening. The best memory I have of him is the first day I moved into the neighborhood & you two introduced yourselves seeing that our kids were about the same age. He was always willing to help Doug & I NEVER heard a cross word from him. The love he had for your family was very evident in everything he said and did. We'd see him off & on at Food Lion or Kroger and he was always smiling. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. May God bless you!

I am so sorry to hear about this. Mark was my closest friend during the late 1980s and played a significant role in shaping the adult I'd become. I have long valued the lessons he taught me about friendships and relationships. He was always so funny, so caring, so loyal, and it sounds like none of these things changed over the years.

My condolences to his family. You are in my prayers.

Mark was one of my closest guy friends growing up - playing Marco Polo at the pool, hanging out at the house with his family, working together at Peoples, band practices in somebody's garage, and good old St. Eddies! We lost touch when I moved away in 95, though I thought often of him and our friendship over the years. I was saddened by the news of his illness when I caught up with his sister Susan, but happy for him that he was able to live such a rewarding and happy life with Delores and his children. God made someone very special in Mark, who touched and blessed many lives during his much too short stay on earth. He will always be remembered with love and fondness, and his whole family is in my prayers.

I had the pleasure of working with Mark and will always see him in his "knee breeches", no matter the weather. When it got cold he did add a jacket but never long pants. It always made me smile.
His smile would light a room and that is the way I will always see him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

It has been decades since I last ran into Mark on the VCU campus - after going through high school together and living in the same neighborhood.

I feel fortunate to have known such a wonderful, kindhearted person. He may have been from another state, but he embodied the characteristics of a true Virginia gentleman.

My sincere condolences to his family.

Mark was very intrumental in my life as a teenager. We both chose paths that were not the norm. In doing so, we put much faith and repect in our friendships. Though, I have not seen Mark since 1988, I have not forgotten my friend. I have always known, no matter the time or distance between us I have a friend in Mark. My deepest sympathy to his family.

I knew Mark from 1983-88. We first met @ Cellar Door on Broad street. We were young & impressionable teenagers who loved great friends & good music. He was the sweetest boy with the funniest sense of humor. Just a wonderful, one of kind soul. I have spent the last 20 years wondering how he was & what his life was like. I am sad to not know the beautiful man, husband & father he was today. My heart goes out to his wife & children. I truly loved Mark also.

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord

May God be with you and your family.
