My sincere condolences to all the family. It's been about 15 years since I'd seen Mark. What a down-to-earth, successful-at-everything-he-did, thoughtful, funny person. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Mark. I was just talking about him last Saturday only to hear a few days later that he had passed away. You will all continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

MARK SOUNDS LIKE HE WAS A LEGEND IN HIS OWN TIME. I DON'T THINK HE KNEW ANY STRANGERS IN HIS LIFE TIME.REMEMBER HE IS SPECIAL BECAUSE GOD TOOK HIM FIRST TO GO TO HEAVEN SO HE WOULD BE WAITING FOR HIS FAMILY WHEN THEIR TURN COMES TO BE WITH HIM AGAIN.TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME AND GOD WILL GUIDE YOU THROUGH THE RUFF ROADS AND BAD WEATHER AND SMILE WHEN THE SUN IS SHINNING.DO AS MARK WOULD WANT YOU TO DO, HE IS STILL IN YOU MIND,BODY AND SPIRIT.LOVE AND PRAYERS TO THE FAMILY.DEBORAH GAYLE (BLILEY'S F. My family lives in Officer Barrett's neighborhood and my son loved seeing his cruiser each day. We never had the chance to meet him or his family but always felt safer with him in the neighborhood. I want to thank his family for the service Mark provided as an officer and the smiles on my son's face as each day he would say "police officer" when we past your home and began to sing "Bad Boys". Our deepest sympathies and prayers will always be with you his wife, children, family and friends as you go through this difficult time.

Dear Barrett Family,
My sincere condolences go to Mark's family - I was lucky enough to coach him at Manchester High School. He was a great soccer player - he had commitment, pace, skill and ability, but above all he was a great individual. His decision to serve in the State Police underlines the type of person that Mark was. I know he will be missed by so many in so many ways. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My brother and I grew up playing soccer with Mark and became good friends during this time. He took good care of my family during the passing of my sister several years back while working at Bliley.
