My sincere condolences to all the family. It's been about 15 years since I'd seen Mark. What a down-to-earth, successful-at-everything-he-did, thoughtful, funny person. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Mark. I was just talking about him last Saturday only to hear a few days later that he had passed away. You will all continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

September 17, 2010

My family lives in Officer Barrett's neighborhood and my son loved seeing his cruiser each day. We never had the chance to meet him or his family but always felt safer with him in the neighborhood. I want to thank his family for the service Mark provided as an officer and the smiles on my son's face as each day he would say "police officer" when we past your home and began to sing "Bad Boys". Our deepest sympathies and prayers will always be with you his wife, children, family and friends as you go through this difficult time.

Dear Barrett Family,
My sincere condolences go to Mark's family - I was lucky enough to coach him at Manchester High School. He was a great soccer player - he had commitment, pace, skill and ability, but above all he was a great individual. His decision to serve in the State Police underlines the type of person that Mark was. I know he will be missed by so many in so many ways. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
