I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of this remarkable human being. We often think of angels with long flowing gowns and halos around their heads, but Mrs Crawley was truly an angel among us. She had that rare capacity to make anyone feel like somebody. I extend my most heartfelt sympathy to the Crawley family. Thank you for sharing your mother with us.Let us all remember the incredible legacy of this great saint by reaching out to others who are less fortunate. She made this her life work. Let us make it ours!

Even though to some, because of her sickness, her death may have seemed timely,but to me it has been a great shock.I am just learning of the funeral services for Mrs. Crawley, a person who was a "Lover and Giver beyond measures." My family and I,especially, were so often recipients of her kindness. May the family know we, too loved her and will miss her tremendously.Our prayers of comfort and support are with you.

Melvin & Lauretta Crawley & Family,

We are so very sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother Melvin, Mrs. Mary Crawley. My very special memory of Mrs. Crawley is how she could "get things done"! When Mrs. Corretta S. King was in Richmond in 1990 and wanted to have a southern BBQ dinner in her suite, as a direct result of Mrs. Crawley's intervention, Mrs. King and her staff enjoyed a fine meal in her hotel suite from Hawks BBQ. Mr & Mrs Crawley was having dinner as they most often did on Sundays at Picadilly, and handled the special request of Mrs. King with one phone call while having her Sunday meal. Per Mrs. Crawley's intervention and call, everything was in place asap...Wow, what a remarkable lady who will be missed by many!! May the family take comfort in knowing the wonderful memories folks like myself and many others have of this great lady!

To the Crawley Family;
With mixed emotions, I send this note of sympathy. I know it was a blessing to peacefully cross over with no pain and suffering. And I am honored to have been able to see Mrs. Crawley again and talk with her after Hawks service. She was so pretty in her fabulous feather hat. Now she is reunited with Pop, Junior, Maxine and Hawk. Just praising God and listening to her favorite Gospel music...limbs restored and perfect health and peace. Be blessed in your celebration of her glorious, remarkable life and know my prayers and love are with you all.

Melvin, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom, Mrs. Crawley. She was a mighty force in this city but I am sure you all recognized it before we did. Mothers are so precious and dear to their children but even more so to God. Just know that my prayers are with you and that God will be the lifter of your heads and allow Him to bear this veil of sorrow.

Mary B. Crawley (Grandma) was a woman who's heart and love for others shown daily. This is a woman that would give all for her family, her friends and her community. To know her was a blessing. To be related to her was an honor. To remember her will be a duty that I will cherish always. We as a family will remember and rejoice in her home-going. We love and will dearly miss her.
