On November 24, 2025, John Joseph Brune Jr., beloved husband of Sheila M. (nee McGlone); devoted father of Meaghan Davis and her husband Peter, Gillian Brune, Sean Brune and his wife Karyn, Caitlin Brune, Moira Thomas and her husband Matthew, Colin Brune, and Kieran Brune, M.D.; devoted brother of S. Virginia Marie Brune, S.S.N.D., David Brune and his wife the late Susan, Jerome Brune and his wife Patricia, and the late Mary Frances Johnston and her husband the late Edward. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and nieces and nephews, and was preceded in death by one great grandchild.

Due notice of dates and times of visiting hours and funeral service will be given.

Please omit flowers. Memorials may be made in his name to:

Coach Joe Brune was my English teacher at Baltimore City College High School. Blessings be upon his family and friends on his passing. He helped me to grow up and become responsible. I owe his a debt of gratitude.

It is with sadness of the passing of Prof. Joe Brune that his Baltimore City College D-13 Homeroom Class of June 1963 extends its condolences to the Brune family. Prof. Brune was a respected English instructor and MSA Lacrosse and Football coach while at City during the 1960s. He attended City Class reunions for over 65 years. Palmam Qui Meruit Ferat.
