DIANIS, Matthew, 89, of Emporia, died Saturday, September 18, 2010. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Veliky Dianis; four sons, Matthew Dianis Jr. and special friend, Joyce, David Dianis, George Dianis and wife, Debbie and Walter Dianis and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Mandy Jones and husband, Dwayne, Andrea Horsley and husband, Alex, and Morgan and Daniel Dianis; a great-granddaughter, Jamison Jones; five godchildren, Wayne Veliky, Betty Lou Seward, Linda Rupp, Andy Hromyak and Suzanne Conway; one sister, Irene Shimko; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday (tonight) at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd., Jarratt, Va. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Lutheran Church with interment to follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Greensville Volunteer Rescue Squad or to St. John the Baptist Church Lutheran Church.
