Mildred Smith HINTON

HINTON, Mildred Smith, 87, of Heathsville, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2009. She was retired from Peoples Fountain Service and Northumberland County Schools as a cafeteria worker. Elizabeth was also a member of Providence Baptist Church, Miskimon, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Warner Hinton Jr. She is survived by two sons, James W. "Sonny" Hinton and wife, Brenda, of Tappahannock, Va., and Harvey A. Hinton of Heathsville, Va.; two sisters, Olive King of Haynesville, Va., and Dorothy Schefflien of Tappahannock, Va.; one brother, Alfred Smith and wife, Shirley, of Richmond, Va.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Stokes, Kim Stevens, Lisa Valdrighi and Ryan Hinton; and 18 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Jones-Ash Funeral Home, Rainswood, Va., on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, October 29, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the Beane Family Cemetery in Miskimon, Va.
