KENNEDY, Nannie Owens, 92, of Mechanicsville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 28, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Clinton E. Kennedy; her children, Clinas Sweeney of Glen Allen, Eunice Smith and husband, Kenneth of Charlottesville, and Kimberly Colgin and Husband, Jerry of Mechanicsville; five grandchildren, Cathy Kim, Greg Smith and wife, April, Eric Sweeney and wife, Lori, Travis Colgin and Jeremy Colgin; five great-grandchildren, Jessica Calderon, Jonathan Kim, Jade Kim, Tyler Smith and Madelyn Kim; several nieces and nephews. Nannie was a long time member of Fairmount Christian Church. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 29, at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd. where funeral services will be held, 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment will follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fairmount Christian Church, 5502 Creighton Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23111 or a charity of your choice.
