I think Natalie would appreciate this tribute to The Crow. Her daughter looks so much like her.

Natalie and I were good friends at Freeman High School during freshman and sophomore years. I don't know when we lost touch, but I have many memories of drinking Clearly Canadians and listening to cassettes on Walkmans 'round the Freeman fence. I remember Natalie buying the FIRST Wren and Stumpy comic book. We went to the fair together and I'm sure I still have some of our class notes buried in my closet. I have 2 of my own kiddos now and they lost their dad last year to COVID. Brenna, I'm so sorry you lost your mom. This picture was taken at my house (I'm known for always having goofy smiles). I loved Natalie's eyelashes in this photo :) This was before her short hair cut!!!

And although the sun will not again rise for you
The peace you've found sets all hearts at ease
And we gladly welcome these fading reflections of you still drifting through our dreams

Your mother and I were good friends once upon a time. I just found this site today. . . so much for good friends, right? I'll share some thoughts once I can compose myself enough to set them down.

Pale Horse
So what do you say in your last goodbye?
When there's no chance to turn back the clock and somehow get it right?
To say I stop caring would surely be a lie, but I wish I'd let you know before the light left your eyes
And when we're tested, will we find the will to survive?
Every drop of blood is a memory slipping into the soil
But the legacy you leave behind still looks up to me
So I take this corvus feather to place on your grave
You spent life in so much pain and now I know you're free
And when we're tested, will we find the will to survive?
Will we fight for every breath when we're under the knife?
Even when dreams are broken, hearts can still change
Will you burn like a supernova or simply fade away?

Natalie was my mother and this is very hard for me,but she is in a better place with her brother.heres a saying i wrote. In life there are things that are upseting.when you are upset you will sometimes cry a river but sooner or later you will have to build a bridge to get over it.

I knew Natalie for a short time and I hope she rests in peace. I know she loved Brenna with all her heart and talked about her all the time. About how proud she was of her and how much she loved her.
I hope you rest in peace Natalie.

It was through a young man named Joshua Buckland that I happened to be fortunate enough to spend time with Natalie on several different occasions during the previous four years.
The optimism, the confidence, the determination, her buoyant, cheerful mannerisms; I was enthralled by the opportunity to interact, if only for a cumulative few hours, with such an inspiring young woman so full of joy.
I am utterly confounded by the departure of our dear friend & family member, but I am resolute in my belief that Natalie is in experiencing an unimaginable transition into the infinite beauty of the Universe; while sorrow may captivate some of us still here on earth, mourning for the great loss of such a magnificent young woman, I am convinced that in due time we shall all be reunited with those whom have departed, and I shall shed a flood of tears of joy upon the moment I can again look into those sparkling eyes of our beloved Natalie.
I shall close my comment by wishing to express my deepest, most sincere condolences towards all who knew and loved Natalie.

Natalie was a wonderful best friend growing up. We were inseparable. Roller skating, building forts, watching HBO (without her mother or mine knowing), going to Gwynn's in the summers...I hold all of these memories and more close to my heart.

I offer my deepest sympathies to all those who held Natalie dear, be they family or friends. In her memory I offer this poem by Alfred, Lord Tennyson:
Crossing the Bar
Sunset and evening star,
And one clear call for me!
And may there be no moaning of the bar,
When I put out to sea,
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam,
When that which drew from out the boundless deep
Turns again home.
Twilight and evening bell,
And after that the dark!
And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For tho' from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.
