BROWN, Mr. Ned Allen Jr., departed this earthly life on Friday, April 16, 2010. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Patricia Delores Brown Bates; two grandchildren, Lonnie Ray and William Randall Brown; one sister, Mary B. Harris; one brother, James H. Brown Sr.; a host of nephews and nieces, among them, Ellen H. Sookins, Crystal H. Thomas and LaTonya H. Bobbitt; son-in-law, William Bates; two sisters-in-law, Rosa and Mary Brown; three brothers-in-law, Dean, Joe and Al Thigpen; three godchildren, Ashley Harris, Allen Greene and LaShawn Cunningham; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, among them one devoted friend, Evetis Duren. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 N. 25th St., where the family will receive friends Wednesday, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and where a homegoing service will be held Thursday, 12 noon. Rev. William B. Wiggins, pastor of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, officiating. Burial Riverview Cemetery.
