Parke Pendleton Obituary

PENDLETON, Parke Douglas, 77, died April 18, 2010. He was born April 20, 1932 in Richmond. Mr. Pendleton was a retired certified public accountant and bank examiner with the Federal Reserve Bank. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and the University of Richmond School of Business. Mr. Pendleton was a member of the Sons of the Revolution and the Virginia Historical Society. He was a longtime member and a deacon at First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Pendleton was an army officer during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joanna Lawrence Pendleton; son, Parke Douglas Pendleton Jr.; two daughters, Elizabeth "Betsy" Pendleton Crockett and her husband, Jim, and Ellen Pendleton Morton and her husband, Richard; brother, George Franklin Pendleton Jr.; six grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces, among them G.F. Pendleton III and Kathleen Pendleton. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 21 in the Commons at Westminster Canterbury. Burial will be private in Hollywood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Westminster Canterbury Fellowship Fund, 1600 Westbrook Ave., Richmond, Va. 23227.
