COLLINS, Mr. Richard Franklin "Butch", age 67, of South Hill, died Friday, November 27, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Dottie Collins of the home; two daughters, Carol Elizabeth Collins Braswell (Robert), of Daniel Island, S.C., and Jennifer Dianne Collins Bland (Frank), of Kinston, N.C.; one son, Robert K. F. Collins (Teresa), of South Hill; five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Carolyn Braswell, Andrew Bland, and Nicholas and Aylor Collins. Also surviving is one sister, Dianne C. Cardea of Midlothian, Va. Mr. Collins was a retired truck driver, a member of the American Legion Post 79 and a member of the South Hill Moose Lodge. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 29, at Farrar Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial considerations may be directed to American Legion Post 79, P.O. Box 562, South Hill, Va., Ephesus Baptist Church Building Fund, 10824 Hwy. One, South Hill, Va. 23970, or South Hill Volunteer Fire Department, 114 Brunswick Ave., South Hill, Va. 23970. Dear Dottie, When Butch entered heaven, the Lord embraced His child. Then He and Butch extended their arms to you to express the infinite circle of love.
