Richard Collins

COLLINS, Mr. Richard Franklin "Butch", age 67, of South Hill, died Friday, November 27, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Dottie Collins of the home; two daughters, Carol Elizabeth Collins Braswell (Robert), of Daniel Island, S.C., and Jennifer Dianne Collins Bland (Frank), of Kinston, N.C.; one son, Robert K. F. Collins (Teresa), of South Hill; five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Carolyn Braswell, Andrew Bland, and Nicholas and Aylor Collins. Also surviving is one sister, Dianne C. Cardea of Midlothian, Va. Mr. Collins was a retired truck driver, a member of the American Legion Post 79 and a member of the South Hill Moose Lodge. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 29, at Farrar Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial considerations may be directed to American Legion Post 79, P.O.
