Richard Dix Obituary

DIX, Richard Hugh, 72, of Caret, died Saturday, June 12, 2010. A member of Upper Essex Baptist Church and Northside Masonic Lodge AF & AM #292, Richard managed Hilbush Auto Service for 28 years and Blandfield Farm for 22 years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Moore Dix; two daughters, Kathy Smith and her husband, Tommy, of Mechanicsville, Robin Taylor and her husband, Bruce, of Walkerton; five grandchildren, Joseph Ryan Smith, Sally Brooke Smith, Ann Marie Smith, Travis Glen Taylor and his wife, Kelly, and Adam Curtis Taylor; one great-granddaughter, Abigail Lynn Taylor. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. in Upper Essex Baptist Church, Caret. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. this evening at the Marks-Bristow Funeral Home, Tappahannock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or Upper Essex Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
