Robert Lee TALLEY

TALLEY, Robert Lee, 82, of Richmond, died October 31, 2009. Son of the late Horace A. and Julia Talley. He was preceded in death by his brother, Horace A. Talley, and is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary C. F. Talley; two sons, Robert Lee Talley Jr. of Richmond and Robert Eugene Talley of Florida; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Thomas E. Frayser of Oakland, Calif., Robert Lee Frayser of Payson, Ariz., and Mary Morris of Roanoke, Va.; eight stepgrandchildren; sisters, Margaret T. Shelton of Richmond, Va. and Ruby D. Gellispie of Clarks Hill, S.C.; brother, Charles W. Talley of Mechanicsville, Va.; one niece and three nephews. Mr. Talley served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He retired from the City of Richmond after 30 years of service. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bliley's - Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Road. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Laurel Park United Methodists Church. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Laurel Park United Methodist Church or the American Lung Association.
