Roger Pair Obituary

Roger Dexter "Dickie" Pair, 74, of Jarratt, Virginia, died Saturday, January 29, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Walton and Marguerite Virginia Pair; one sister, Edith P. Smith; and one brother, J. Herman Pair. He is survived by his wife, Jean Proctor Pair of Jarratt; one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce Walton Pair and wife, Juliette; two grandchildren, Jordain Gabrielle and Berklee Walton Pair, all of Emporia; two sisters, Doris P. Campbell of Hamlet, N.C., and Anna Jean Grizzard of Emporia. Mr. Pair was a retired supervisor of manufacturing and shipping with Georgia-Pacific Corporation in Jarratt, and also a retired farmer. He was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church. Remains rest at Owen Funeral Home, Jarratt, Va., where the family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday (tonight), and where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2005. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Lou Harrell, 25081 Blue Star Highway, Jarratt, Va. 23867.
