SMITH, Ruth N., formerly of Highland Springs, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Smith Sr.; a son, John A. Smith Jr.; her daughter, Sharon R. Goodman; daughter-in-law, Shelia S. Smith; and granddaughter, Shannon Hudson. She is survived by her sons, Neil W. Smith, Allan B. Smith; two daughters, Deborah Jeffers (Mark), Rebecca Smith; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She retired from R.L. Polk with over 20 years of service. She was a member of Fort Lee Baptist Church. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Va. A service will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home Chapel, 11 a.m. April 15, 2010, followed by interment at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Drive, Sandston, Va. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
