Thomas DeJarnette Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on Dec. 29, 2009.
DeJARNETTE, Thomas Amos Sr., went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Charlotte; children, Thomas Amos DeJarnette Jr. "Tad" and his wife, Pam; daughter, Amy Lorraine DeJarnette Caccia and her husband, Mike; and four grandchildren, Crosby DeJarnette, Jai DeJarnette, Courtney Caccia and Kimberly Caccia. He was a supervisor for Virginia Dairy, served in the U.S. Navy, was the first R.V. dealer in Richmond, sales manager for Wolverine R.V. manufacturer, served as deacon at Tabernacle Baptist Church and was also chairman of the Administrative Board. He later joined Cool Spring Baptist Church in Mechanicsville. He was rarely seen with anything but a smile on his face, and his smile was contagious. He will be greatly missed. We loved him deeply. He was the most wonderful husband and father to us. The family will receive friends at the Mechanics-ville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 30, 11 a.m., at Cool Spring Baptist Church. Interment in Signal Hill Memorial Park.

Hi Charlotte & Family

Seems like it was just yesterday that you all were in my office. You are very special to me. I sure enjoyed talking with you all. You were and are not just a client but a good friend. If I can help you in any way, please let me know.

God bless you.

Hi Tad and family,
Tad, I remember both of your parents like it was yesterday; playing in the backyard with you and Paul when I was over there visiting. We had some fun times.
My heart and prayers are with you and your family. I know you will see him again one day.

Hi Charlotte, Amy and family,
We want you to know how much we will miss Amos. He was one of the most loving men in the world. He has touched our lives in so many ways and he is now making heaven very happy with his smile. See you all very soon.
