Thomas Ipock Obituary

Mr. Thomas L. Ipock, 81, passed away on October 11, 2002 after a long illness. A graveside service will be conducted Monday, October 14 at 1:30 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Greenville, N.C. Mr. Ipock, a native of Pitt County, N.C., lived most of his life in Richmond. He served in the United States Army during World War II, was a member of the 830th Tank Destroyer and participated in the Battle of the Bulge in Normandy. He later served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #216 AF&AM in Sandston, Virginia. Other memberships included the ACCA Temple, Scottish Rites, and the Moose Lodge, all of Richmond, Virginia. He was also a member of the VFW of Beaufort, N.C. Mr. Ipock is survived by his wife, Sarah B. Ipock of the home; sons, Thomas Ipock Jr. of Virginia, Edward Ipock of Gloucester, Va., William James Ipock of Wichita Falls, Texas, George Ipock of Richmond, Charles Ipock of Richmond; daughters, Jane Boone of Emporia, Va., Annie Liddell Berlinerman of Richmond, Va., Sarah J. Spence of Newport, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, Eastern Chapter, 400 Oberline Road, Suite 208, Raleigh, N.C. 27605. Arrangements are by Wilkerson Funeral Home and Crematory, Greenville, N.C.

Sorry for your loss. Not actually knowing Mr. Thomas Ipock, and going by only what I have read, He seemed to have lived a full life. He was very fortunate man, for having being able to participate in history as he had, as well as for having a wonderful family. My condolences go out to you all.
