My heart goes out to the Finney and Scott family during this time of loss. As God has saw fit in calling Peewee home , I can just imagine Him welcoming her saying well done, my good and faithful servant . Peewee was known to me as the big sister of her little sister Dip during our high school days at Maggie L. Walker. Always the protector, and advisor who gave guidance with a warm smile, but a stern since of “don’t play with me”. I have no doubt Peewee’s life will become a living testament to her faith and love for God, her love for life, family and friends. I pass on these sentiments to her husband, son, mother, sisters, and family;
Blessed are those that mourn, for they shall be comforted. He heals the broken heartened, binding up their wounds. No, I will not abandon you or leave you as orphans in the storm-I will come to you. Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions. I have told you these things so that you will have peace of heart and mind, Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows, but cheer up, for I have overcome the world, Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Lamont and Andre, I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have had the opportunity to have Vanessa in my life for the time that we were together in the PI. I have such great memories. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to reconnect and talk with her and I am sad that we did not have a chance to talk more. Andre, she was so proud of you. I know that her spirit and laughter will be missed but I also know that God has an angel in heaven. Your family will be in my prayers.

Our hearts are so broken to hear of our Miss Vanessa's passing. She was such an important person in our lives and our boys' early childhood, and we were so fortunate to continue our friendship by keeping in touch after both our families' many military moves.
"Miss Vanessa" started out as our sons' preschool teacher at Peterson AFB, but our relationship went so much further than that. She was Cooper & Cannon's '2nd Mama' and she often referred to them as "my babies." After watching her beautiful son, "Dre" grow up into such a wonderful young man, we often looked to her for advice. Vanessa was a "mom" to so many kids, and she knew how to keep them all in line...and they all loved her for it. She was the hub of so many loving friends.
If something needed to be done, Miss Vanessa knew how to cut through the 'red tape' to get it done, especially if it the 'red tape' was 'ridiculous.' (She brought our 'snowed out' Easter egg hunt to the Youth Ctr. gym...oh I mean "spring" egg hunt; her boss was snowed in at home..lol) We loved Vanessa's huge smile and unique sense of humor--anyone remember her hilarious portrayal of "George Washington?"
Just when you thought you figured out all your options, Vanessa always had the point of view that took you to think beyond the box and more in depth...a truly gifted open mind she had.
I will forever miss our "around New Year's" phone conversations, catching up on all the latest with everyone, but most of all, I will forever miss her voice and, again, her sweet smile.
Vanessa will forever be imbedded in our hearts & souls as she was our "family" in Colorado.
LaMont, Dre, Mama, Family & Friends...our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you forever and always.
God Bless you all~
