Chris and family--your dad was a wonderful guy. Warm and caring and concerned, and he was an impressive presence--just by standing still and saying nothing he made an impact.
He was very proud of all of you.
I had no idea of his career until I read the obit. He never said a word about his earlier life except when he spoke of D.J. or you guys. Jerry lived a great life, and died a good death--none of us can ask for more. My love and prayers to you all--

The St. James church service wasn't right until Jerry came in and took his usual seat by the window on the right. One Sunday a visitor sat in his seat, and I had to restrain myself from asking her to move. Always the ultimate gentleman, Jerry sat in another seat. We are so sorry and send our love, sympathy and prayers to his family. Tom and Barbara Cupples, Cabin Point and Cople Parish.

We'd only known Jerry for a few years and had only a sketchy idea of his impressive career, but we knew he was very special. His thoughts and words came slowly but they reflected wonderful humor, intelligence, and were phrased so perfectly. "Stropinis". the gangster jacket. The racy car The prized flowers (we are privileged to have one). Such good company. Such a dear man. How blessed we are to have known him. It wasn't long enough. Our deepest sympathy to his family.
