Bernice McPherson Obituary

Bernice R. McPherson (Thompson), of Norristown, died Saturday, Dec. 18 in Parkhouse Providence Point Nursing Home in Royersford.
She was born in Monroe, Ga. on April 18, 1921, the daughter of the late Walter and Ophelia (Durham) Thompson.
Mrs. McPherson worked for Montgomery Hospital for 31 years as a nurses aid.
She was a graduate of Norristown High School, Class of 1936, where she played basketball.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Norristown where she and her late husband Charles A. McPherson introduced bingo at the church.
Surviving are two daughters: Bernice (BeBe) Ruffin and Betty Ann McPherson, both of Norristown; 10 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by two sons: Charles and Thomas; and three sisters: Mae, Alice and Mary; and a grandson Bryan.
Funeral services are going to be held Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, DeKalb and Chestnut Streets, Norristown. Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, East Norriton.
Arrangements are by the Richard C. Johnson Jr. F.H. Inc., Norristown.
