Ma. Rayala Obituary

Feb. 11, 1922 - Nov. 4, 2010

Ma. Bernardita "Diting" Rayala died recently, in the peace of the Lord, in her native Philippines. She went peacefully after a brief illness.

A longtime Vallejo and Sacramento resident, she retired, and moved home to Oas, Albay, in the Philippines in 1999 for an easier, slower paced life.

While living in Vallejo, she spent years as a bilingual language instructor and tutor, and teacher at Patterson and Pennycook elementary schools.

A devout Catholic, she lived a life of devotion to the Virgin Mary and the Rosary.

A lover of poetry, music, flowers and family, her spirit lives on through all who knew her. Her one request, with thanks, was for prayers.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Isaias "Ching" Rayala; their children, Milagros "Mitos" Rivera, Marichu Ravago, Milde Tong, Bernardita "Bem" Cadiz, Marita Huggard; grandchildren, Isaias "Ching" Zaragoza, Romeo "Butch" Zaragoza, Jr., Ian Tong, Mabee Zapanta, Donny Tong, Isaias "Chingboy" Ravago, Bing Wada, Irene Sanchez, Jhustin Abeleda, Maemae Tong, Jill Ravago, Nelson "JR" Abeleda, Jr., and Marinelle Abeleda; great-granchildren, Vanessa Zaragoza, Jordan Zaragoza, Francesca Zapanta, Imo Tong, Lorenzo Zapanta, Laurie Wada and Mohan Tong; great-great-grandchild, Payton-Jolie Zaragoza-Lopez; and all her many extended family members.
