Maria Luz Anasarias Projillo went to her heavenly home on Dec. 18, 2010.
She was born Sept. 25, 1941 in Sinamay, Alimodian, Iloilo, Philippines, the eighth and youngest daughter of nine children. She immigrated to Alameda, Calif., to join her sister Pilar in 1969.
As a young woman, she found a job with Bank of America in San Francisco and worked as an adjustment clerk for 30-plus years, retiring in 2001.
Maria Luz is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Romulo T. Projillo. They enjoyed many days together gardening, walking along the Vallejo waterfront, eating out and spending time with their granddaughter, Alissa Jo Projillo, whom they play a huge role in helping to raise. She is also survived by her daughter, Lucy Projillo; son, Stanley Anasarias (Eileen); sister, Pilar A. Alcontin
(Eduardo); sister-in-law, Lydia P. Juntado (Fermin); brother-in-law, Benedicto T. Projillo; nephews,
Virgil Anasarias (Gwendolyn), Aurelio Alcontin (Mary Ann) and Jeorney P. Juntado; grandchildren, Alissa Projillo, Benjamin Anasarias and Sarah Anasarias; grandnieces, Kaitlin Alcontin and Sheila Legaspi (Clyde); and a huge extended family residing in the Philippines, Canada, UK and Saudi Arabia.
Visitation will be held today, Dec. 28, and Wednesday, Dec. 29, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a Vigil at 7 p.m. Dec. 29 at Colonial Chapels, 1000 Redwood St., Vallejo. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 3450 Tennessee St., Vallejo, and then she will be laid to rest at All Souls Cemetery, 550 Glen Cove Road, Vallejo.
